How to know if GAN-fet amp and Lyngdorf 2170 (as a Pre and Dac) are compatible
It was never about the topology, if that is what you mean by “how the amp is built”.   Including the descriptive “GAN-fet”, which is Class D, in my OP was extraneous, for sure, so I can see why anyone might construe it as you did.Everything worked...
One box do it all
What about a used Lyngdorf 2170?  Below your stated 100w or more but..it is high current and we all know watts don’t tell the whole tale from mfg. to mfg.  Many say, Naim, for example drive speakers much better than their relatively low wattage de...
How to know if GAN-fet amp and Lyngdorf 2170 (as a Pre and Dac) are compatible
Soix:I have experience bringing in new gear to evaluate for SQ performance in my system, whether it be streamer, integrated, power conditioner or tweaks, wires, etc.  The GAN-fet amp will be the first “separate” (amp or pre) I’ve ever connected.So...
How to know if GAN-fet amp and Lyngdorf 2170 (as a Pre and Dac) are compatible
Here is the reply from Lyngdorf:“….1. The maximum output level of the analog output is 4V but you can reduce the level in the output setup to match the connected power amplifier.2. The amplifier gain is dependent on the level setting in the output...
How to know if GAN-fet amp and Lyngdorf 2170 (as a Pre and Dac) are compatible
Thanks Ric.  Very much.I clarified my text to the factory rep based on the details in your post and when he replies I should have what I need to determine compatibility between the two pieces.
Who is using The Lyngdorf 2710 or 3400, and Room Perfect with speakers against the wall ?
It takes lots of trial and error in speaker and seat set up.  Which, I realize depends on whether you have a dedicated room or not. I tried against the wall when I got my 2170 over 4 years ago.  I didn’t like it.  And discovered almost no one does...
Integrated Amps - another thread...
Look into the Lyngdorf 2170 TDAI. It has a dac.  2 if not 3 very very positive and very detailed reviews were done in 2016 and 2017 and there are many discussions of the unit on this forum.A few folks I know replaced much higher priced gear with t...
The best room upgrade: $2250
OP:Thanks for starting this thread.  I will be looking into the roof treatment.  Lots of great posts here….Bpoletti:I have been trying to find fake plants for diffusion or tall reeds (for lack of a better word).  Reeds perhaps an 1/8 of an inch th...
Has anyone used the new Innuos 2.0 Sense music app? Compared it to Roon?
Been using Roon with my Zenith Mk3 for six months.Having switched to Sense 3 days ago, I agree with comments by Grannyring  and the hifi veterinarian:  Sense is Sensational.  It is a huge deal.  I too am beside myself.  Grinning and shaking my hea...
any suggestions on what to replace Bluesound Node 2i with
Forgot: Absolutely no financial or any connection to Innuos. Just a happy customer. Should go without saying, but….

A non-subjective recommendation for the Puritan PSM156
The Puritan is the first audiophile grade conditioner I have used, so I can’t make comparisons to other offerings. I connected the Puritan last Saturday and ran it for 127 hours straight.  What it has done for the SQ of my system has far exceeded ...
Solid state amplifiers and sound stage, especially front to back "depth"
I have a Lyngdorf 2170 (modded up a bit).Over the last few years I’ve done many of the usual things aimed at optimizing SQ in every parameter most audiophiles pursue.  Depth of soundstage remained elusive.  I had some depth, but nothing I would co...
New Perlisten S7T Towers
2 ago I noticed that chess-board pattern on some Rockport speakers.  Common supplier?   Likely.  I was looking into Rockport after hearing a good podcast with the founder and the two guys running the business with him now.
Floorstanding Speakers on Platforms
In my experience, Douglas_Schroeder is correct about the benefits of speaker elevation alone, irrespective of the pedigree of the stand.  Although the stand design can add performance, it need not be expensive.I discovered this first-hand, when I ...
