Have you moved away from full range to standmount speakers + subs?
I agree with the inmates, bigger speakers have the potential to give a much more realistic sound stage than smaller speakers, which create the "porcelain muppet show". (Sorry, I did not coin that term but it's just so accurate!) The misnomer comes...
What were the radio stations of your youth that helped you on your music/audio journey?

Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl
Subsonic frequencies have direct effect on the hormonal system, they affect the biorhythm of the internal organs, vision, balance. They are an essential part of perceiving the hall acoustics of a concert hall. If it's part of the recording, then y...

Has Nordost forgotton who pays the bills?

How long do good speakers last?

Millercarbon said it all. My addendum:The most economical route may be to keep on upgrading arm and table, while having a cheap(er) cartridge that can step up big way.Not all cartridges can step up when the table/arm combo is greatly elevated.I fo...
Tube Amplifier Sound Characteristics
Amplifier sound boils down to topology and parts selection. The two extremes of topology will give either the most cold or most warm sound:A. Push-pull design, class B, high feedback = "solid state sound", even when it is a tube amplifier.B. Singl...

Is bass the most important frequency band?
90% of the brains processing power is between 500Hz-15kHz. The region that processes sub-500Hz looks more like an afterthought, barely any brain tissue dedicated to it. So, the 500Hz-15kHz would be universally the most important frequency range, a...
