Integrated Amp to match with Magico A3 Folks, I'm finally getting my pair of Magico A3s delivered to my home this Monday (Labor Day). I am planning to follow David_Ten's advise and test several amplifiers at home. I have a Marantz AV8805 and a NAD M27, so I will be initially driving th...
Legacy Focus SE or Magico A3 I auditioned Paradigm's Prestige 95F and found them to be too "brassy" and lacking in the lower end bass. I also auditioned a variety of speakers including the Elac Andante AF-61s, the Goldenear's References, Focals, B&W 804s and 803s, the Ma...
Speaker Cables for Magico @sinewaveronI had my pair of Magico A3 speakers for six weeks now. I use Siltech Royal Signature Prince on these speakers, and sounds great. All my cables are Siltech Royal Signature. I’ve had these with my Wilsons, and now on my A3’s. The only ne...
Talk but not walk? Sometimes the "listenign comparison" mantra is pushed a bit too far. I was flabbergasted to see a 250+ thread in audiogon on whether or not someone can hear the difference in sound quality when interchanging two cat6-certified internet cables.
Ethernet Cables, do they make a difference? It baffles me that a trivial question that was correctly answered in the second post:Cat 6 cable is certified for far more data throughput than you will ever need for audio.gardnered over 180 posts! There are a lot of people with too much free time!
Magico A3 Thank's for sharing your impressions! Where did you hear them? Have you heard the dynaudio contour 60s to compare as well? And/or Persona 3Fs or 5Fs? Thanks!Sound Innovations, 29400 Kohoutek Way #100 Union City, CA 94587, has a pair Magic A3s for ...
Magico A3 I listened last Saturday to a pair of Magico A3 speakers. They were outstanding. The bass extension was surprisingly good, and their high frequency sound was very detailed while smooth, without seeming brassy or fatiguing. In my humble opinion, th...
If you like Revel F208, you would love .... I listened yesterday to a pair of Magico A3 speakers. They were outstanding. The bass extension was surprisingly good, and their high frequency sound was very detailed while smooth, without seeming brassy or fatiguing. In my humble and limited opi...
ELAC - Adante... what’s the verdict? Dear James_w514, Thank you for your explanation regarding the effect of aluminum drivers in enhancing the brassiness of speakers. Now that you mentioned it, I recall having the same impression when I was auditioning a pair of paradigm prestige 85...
ELAC - Adante... what’s the verdict? I spent more than 2 hours listening to a pair AF61s at one of the Elac distributors in the SF Bay Area. They sounded very nicely. I personally would have liked a bit more bass extension and found that the high frequency response was a bit too bras...
5-10k budget... so many choices I’ve been reading this forum thread, and in particular the speaker comparisons of @lowspark and others, with great interest since I am also thinking about buying a new pair of speakers in the $5-10K range and upgrading my AVR system. I’m hoping to...
Tekton Double Impacts Hi everyone, I've been reading with interest this thread. It seems like the DI are great speakers. Unfortunately, they are too big for my living room and therefore I'm considering the Tektron Elctrons instead. I'm considering also the new Elac Ad...
Has anyone made the jump to $uper High end and were disappointed? The sad fact is that, as our disposable income generally increases as we get older, the most important transducers - our ears - continue to deteriorate and no amount of money spent on "high-end" equipment, is going to fix this problem. |
