My Demo results: I feel like I'm at a frustrating block in my speaker journey
I second the Magnepan 3.7i. with 2 subwoofers  However they only sound as good as your power conditioning, gear and cables.  Or consider an open baffle speaker.  For me I tire of the box sound of box speakers under  $12-15,000.
Is there such a thing as too much power?
I thought I needed a lot of power for my Maggie 3.6's and had a 540 watt class D.  The room would shake and it was fun to show off but no way to listen to music that loud for long.  I have 60 watt Pass class A amps with powered subwoofers.   Much ...

Which to Upgrade first? My Amplifier or Speakers
A bad speaker can sound Ok with great equiptment.  A great speaker will not sound great with inferior equiptment.  Give the speaker the best signal you can and then upgrade the speaker.  Start farthest away from the speaker.   Dedicated power line...
PS Audio PowerPlant P20 better than pure direct AC I get during the night?
I have a P10 and found it was not good to run my amps thru it.  I use it for the digital components and by tweaking the settings it can be very beneficial.  I have a Denali 6000s for the analog components and it is wonderful but still the amps are...

General question about tube preamps and gain
Following up on the reply from mganga,I have a Decware CSP3 tube pre amp.  In addition to the standard volume attenuator there are adjustable pots for gain on both the input tube and on the output tubes.  My understanding of these pots is for "gai...
Which Magnepans for my small room?
I upgraded from 1.7i's to 3.7i's.  My cats gave a little attention the the 1.7's.  I now use tall scratching posts on either sides of the speakers and they have not touched them.  They use the scratching posts all day long. There is a product calle...
Help selecting a new preamp
If your budget is $ 5000 pass on the Freya.  It is a tremendous value for the price and a great feature set with balanced and RCA inputs and outputs.  Passive, active and tube options for gain a great warranty and an innovative company behind it. ...
What are the advantages to a Class A amp & what are the trade offs?
Depending on your equiptment and you ears you will appreciate Class A more or less.  For me there is a relaxing and smoothness character to Class A.I moved from a 540 watt Class D to 60 watt Class A to drive my Maggie 3.7i's.  I liked the Class D ...
I need opinions, Schhit Freya+ and an appropriate Amp
check out the Decware "Integrated" http://www.decware.com/newsite/SE34I.htm I had the Freya and Decware CSP3. I like the balanced input and output the  Freya had but the tubes were noisy.  The Decware was sweeter sounding and much preferred.  I ...
How many of us are truly satisfied with their systems?
It is possible for some to be truley satisfied but probably out of reach of most of us.... Master Po: It is written in the 'Tao Te Ching', "Under heaven, all can see beauty as beauty only because there is ugliness. All can know good as good only ...
Power Amp advice
Personally I went from a beastly class D to a Pass XA60.8 for my 3.7i's.  The sound is sweet as long as I dont play LOUD.  My room is over 500 square feet.  Quality over quantity every time. I found this at the review below, maybe you can save th...
Any way I could have damaged my speakers?
Sorry to hear of your loss.I made a boo boo a few weeks ago.  I was trying to figure out why I did not have sound after changing around some interconnects.  I had left the volume open on a preamp and changed sources, bone head move.  At first I wa...
Does a ripped cd onto a digital format sound better than the cd played on the cdp
I was suprised how much better CD's  sounded after ripping to a music server vs from a CD player's digital output both going thru the same DAC.
