balanced cd player
I can vouch for the ARC C 2 as well, I now have an ARC CD 3 so I have to sell my beloved CD 2. But it is nothing but great sound and detail just a little less forward than the CD 3 (1-2 rows at most) but it is great and gets only better with a goo...
Need to replace my Acurus ACD-11
Luxgon, you could consider an ARC peice, CD 2 or if you can find it a CD 3. The Bryston has need for a lot of break in time (500 hrs. was recommended). I don't know maybe a Sim Audio or Marantz product would suit you too, if your more tube based I...
Possibile new Integreated recomendation
Thanks, I like acouple of your suggestions in particular, Pilinius and NAD (I read the review of this in Stereophile) as well as Krell (can count on the bottom end, used to have an Aragon 2004) and we just got an MF dealer so I can try to hear the...
recommendations for a sub $2000 cdp
Icorem, I (personally) like SS so I currently own ARC and truely enjoy the detal and resolution that I get from it (wouldn't trade 'em!). I wasn't able to hear the Bryston as the dealer will only order when requested, the same delaer also carries ...

I think it depends if you need SACD or just Redbook that you're after as well. if you're strictly Redbook I'd look at the Bryston BCD 1 as well as the ARC CD 3 and maybe even the Sim Audio Equinox or SE version. Also helps as what music genre you ...
Best isolation under a big receiver ?
I've been using Brightstar under my Integrated and my CD player with (IMHO) spectacular results since day one use and it is sonic improvements that you can hear!
UltraBit Platinum, does it work?
I can also say that it is a must, I've fooled some of my friends when I cut a CD for them and they were impressed with the difference in sound also! Use sparingly but the results are very easy to hear :)
CD Mats -- do they work? Are they dangerous?
I have to agree with Cruz123, I use the Marigo Signiture Refrence with my ARC and yes, it does make a difference, in fact I don't listen to a disc without it. I've had zero problems in use with it, and yes there is not a huge difference but enough...
Musical Power cable
I'm a compact system user myself but... I'm using PCs from Locus Design and they knocked me off my feet with the nuterality and resolution that I never knew was possibile by doing such a change. I use Cryo Parts Beast on my Integrated amp and a Lo...
Balanced vs Single ended?
Thnak you to everyone for your answers. I'm runnibg an integrated amp to my CD with 1 mtr single ended ICs, they were built to be matched from Ridgestreet Audio. I was wondering if using Balanced would provide still an even greater degree of defin...
Moon impressions
Thank you for your responces all, I'm looking to make the last change in my CD player and call it quites but I'm not rushing. I'm very attached to my ARC CD2 and it's sound but have been drawn tword the Sim line without any thumbs up or down as to...
Weak Link
as welll as the speakers, could be some problem in the room itself that needs correction this does make quite a difference! You might also consider that and where your speaker placement is and on & on...
Bryston BCD-1 impressions?
Drummermitchell, nice honest responce! I too have a true affection for my ARC CD2 and have thought about maybe a change to either seperates or a different Integrated amp (Jeff Rowland) or CDP (ARC CD3, Bryston or Sim Equinox SE) that are in my int...
Which makes the bigger difference?
Sorry also failed to mention my interest in the Bryston CDP1 and the Sim Equnoix SE as a possibile match up as well
Which makes the bigger difference?
Thanks to everyone for thier thoughts, I pay ALOT of ATTENTION to vibration control and Room Tuning has made huge differences, as well as other small things such as great cables, cable elevators and PS Noise Harvesters. I've got a small room so li...
