Focal Sopra 2 Vs Wilson Sophia 3 My Sopra 2's are 5 months old now and finally broken in. They have about 400hrs of play and have improved dramatically since new. Im using a Simaudio 700i amp to drive them with Discovery Essential & Essence Cables. These are really great spea...
Is it necessary to use the same cable brand and model for bi-wiring?? Yes, all cables have a "character". What might be a wonderful and expensive cable might not be the best choice for certain speakers or amplifier. Find a good dealer who is familiar with your speakers and electronics and ask for their advice. Also,...
Is it necessary to use the same cable brand and model for bi-wiring?? You should select cables that compliment your speakers then biwire with identical cables.
Is it necessary to use the same cable brand and model for bi-wiring?? Exactly my point.
Is it necessary to use the same cable brand and model for bi-wiring?? Then you are using the cables as a tone control.
Discovery Cables Plus Four vs Essence: Is there an audible difference? I've had Essence and Essential for several years now. It replaced Signature IC and 123 Speaker Cable. The upgrade was great but expensive as I bought new from Joe. Im driving a Simaudio Amp into Focal Sopra#2 speakers. The combination sounds sweet...
UPGRADE TIME!! Preamp vs. Speakers??? I’m using a Simaudio 740i Integrated amplifier with a new pair of Sopra 2 speakers. Previously I had a pair of Focal 1028be2 speakers also using the 740i. The Simaudio electronics has a very musical smooth sound that matches quite well with Focal ...
Aerial 7T to Dynaudio C2 That is very true about preference for one brand's sound over another. There's no perfect speaker that suits everyones individual taste and their personal hearing acuity. Personally, I prefer a highly detailed sound that has a 3 dimensional sound...
Enjoying My New Focal Sopra No2's Now that my Sopra’s have some play time they’re breaking in quite nicely. The tweeter has smoothed out similar to my 1028’s and can not be recognized as the source of the high’s. When they were new, I could locate the tweeter and hear where it was...
Aerial 7T to Dynaudio C2 From everyone who heard the Sopra at RMAF and didn't think they sounded good....they probably didn't sound anything like they should. They were just shipped from France for the show and were new...with no break-in time. Shame on Focal for showing ...
Enthusiast's Review A/B Focal Sopra 2 and Electra 1028be (II) Recently I purchased a pair of Sopra #2's to replace my 1028be2 that I've had for about a year or so. I listened to them several times at the local dealer using 2 different amplifiers and 2 rooms. Amp's were Naim and Macintosh. I won't comment ...
How bad is the damage to my speakers? I had a similar incident happen with a pair of B&W CM-7 Speakers using a new amplifier. Stupid mistake but those CM's are some really tough speakers and I had no damage.
Enjoying My New Focal Sopra No2's I'd agree about the bass lift. Compared to my previous 1028, the Sopra goes deeper but with a penalty if your room is boomy. I expect to get the sound I'm looking for, I'll need to invest in better room treatment. SO it GOES in Audio🤑🤑🤑
What's the greatest bargain in audio racks these days? I've got a old Target, welded steel rack with cheap plywood shelved. Rather than buy a new $3000 fancy audiophile rack, I tried isolating my electronics on Stillpoints. Even with the cheap Target Stand, the Stillpoints made a huge improvement. Sti...
Enjoying My New Focal Sopra No2's Hey Guys...anyone interested in starting a forum or similar to discuss setup with your Sopra's ?I'm just starting to experiment with my pair. The new base is great for experimenting with room placement but I haven't decided where to bolt them down... |
