Who out there wants to, or has, validated an amazing cable find?
@vthokie83 Quite agree and I would not just go ahead and try any of the other cable brands on pure whim. But this one I tried because of couple of credible audiophiles mentioned them. I dm'd with one of them and he had the right cables and expe...
Who out there wants to, or has, validated an amazing cable find?
@roxy54 Yea, I tried one of their other silver coated/plated cables also and found it to be bright. Mentioned that in my post, that I don't recommend their silver cable. Cables do need time to break in and at least 72 hrs worth of signal passing...
Who out there wants to, or has, validated an amazing cable find?
@jc4659 Thanks... Only had these cables for short while and haven’t yet removed the "glue" on one of the connectors to inspect how the cable is connected to the plug and if its a crimp or solder. As for comparing cables I have noted from experie...
Who out there wants to, or has, validated an amazing cable find?
Here is the link to the interconnect cable on aliexpress that I tried out. I didn’t find this one on amazon. Just one of you all heavy posters so you are well known here and are familiar with cables give it a try. Give it about 72hrs of burn in ...
Who out there wants to, or has, validated an amazing cable find?
@coralkong My post is not an add. Just a wtf on a very low priced cable.... Just looking to pass along and some corroboration for us frugal audiophiles. Difficult to do, I know, when the internet has made most people confused on what's real. T...
What use to burn in power cords?
What's wrong with just plugging the power cables in with a load (something turned on)? If you have a high-resovling audio system (mid high-end) then raising the cables off the ground will make an audible difference. If you are entry level high-e...
can subwoofers make things worse?
@soix   have you ever compared subwoofers? Apparently not. I have and stand by what I said per experience and am not some fan boy. here is one review where the reviewer is kind to SVS and all its like brethren substandard like JB Audio, etc… B...
can subwoofers make things worse?
Rel and Kef are great. I currently own older pair rel subwoofers in my 2.2 audio system. I would drop SVS. Not good at all unless you want a one dimensional boom. pair is needed. I ran a single subwoofer for awhile and when I went to two it was ...
Have you seen the new McIntosh poster for $195?
bemused that mcintosh has such a fervent following when there are so many other great hi-end vendors out there.  So, serious question, what is the allure of McIntosh equipment where it becomes the end goal for so many? my system components curre...
What was the first power cable that you noticed a difference in the sound?
You don’t mention what you have for equipment. I recently did the same and borrowed 5 different power cables in the $300 range.  on my mid-level high end system I heard differences for each cable. the winner then was Pangea 14XL with Cardas cop...
Do you think driver “break in” is real?
Yes unless you bought crap speakers.  With crap speakers the speakers still need to break in but still don’t sound good.
10 gauge power cord. Too much power for tube amp?
Tubes seem very sensitive to ac quality and what you need is good power cable and a good power conditioner.    I got weary of the day to day variable sound from tubed equipment and gave up.    With all solid state now I have given up a bit of wa...
Equalizer in a Hi Fi system
If you have or think you need an equalizer then you do not have a high end audio system.  I think the same with all dsp’s I’ve heard so far as well. Adding fake distortion.  if I have a musical instrument in a room once it’s tuned it always sound...
How easily can you distinguish between different DACs?
It is necessary to have the good audio gear to begin to hear differences in DACs easily. Common audio gear like Denon, Pioneer, etc do not have the resolution to bring out the differences that we can hear. If music is background then common audio...
What would your "perfect speaker" sound like.
Like live unamplified music.    and it takes your whole audio system to achieve something close to live unamplified music, not just speakers.
