Help With New Preamp Decision @vthokie83 if the current owner will share the serial number you should be able to reach out to Audio Research to get history on the Ref 5se. I would do it anyway just to know for sure what you are considering to purchase. Good luck.
Help With New Preamp Decision I found myself in the same position about a year ago. You have some wonderful options and really can’t go wrong. It just depends on whether you’re looking for “old” tube sound or newer tube sound (more solid state sounding). I ended up with the ...
USB to Dual Coax Bridge for Qutest DAC @drlou77 just wondering if you got your Bricasti M3 or the weather caused shipping problems? Still interested in your impression!
What affects front to back depth in room/ system? Try playing Moon River by Jacintha to get a perspective of image placement and over all system sound.
Thinking of upgrading speakers from ProAc 3.8 I have enjoyed in my system for 23 years. +1 for Joseph Audio Pearls if within range. Used maybe??? I owned ProAc 1.5 and now own Joseph Audio Perspectives. The Perspectives are much better in everything. But they should be at about 3x the cost.
Your greatest high end audio purchase!!! I bought one of the last pairs of Joesph Audio Prospectives (first Generation) directly from Jeff. I discovered I can’t afford the electronics to find out how good they are. Other than upgrading to second generation (just to have) my end game sp...
Did your system getting better the more money you spent or more experience you gained? It is both. It took me some money to determine what I like / trying to achieve. Then through reading, listening, think I had to spend less to get close to my goal.
USB to Dual Coax Bridge for Qutest DAC @drlou77 Sorry I brought up the MDx board. I was thinking about the build date of the M1. The M3 came out after the "new" Mdx board. In short, you should be in great shape. Sorry again for introducing a "non issue". Sounds like you are pl...
USB to Dual Coax Bridge for Qutest DAC It cost $1000 to upgrade the board (found on the Web). I would be kind of surprised if it has the older board. But I guess we will see. I had my M1 Se upgraded to an SII and Bricasti was wonderful throughout the process. Not suggesting you do ...
USB to Dual Coax Bridge for Qutest DAC Do you know when it was built / originally purchased? I would send Bricasti an email or give them a call. I would think with a SS # they should be able to tell you right away. According to Bricasti's WEB Site the upgraded board was put into ser...
USB to Dual Coax Bridge for Qutest DAC Just make sure current generation Mdx board. I really enjoyed my M3. It added life back into my streaming and I had plans to keep it for a long time. I loved the sound, build quality and Bricasti the company. Their upgrade offerings are great ...
Tube Rolling You might also want to reach out to Brent Jesse. He is more than happy to share his experience and opinion on which tubes to use in what equipment to achieve the sound / change you are pursuing.
If Conrad Johnson still made a DAC it would sound like?? Or maybe a used Bricasti M3.
Tube Rolling I rolled the tubes in my PrimaLuna Integrated. Biggest impact was moving to KT-150’s. I believe took the sound to the next level. Also moved to NOS 4003’s and no way as an improvement as the 150’s. I would start there.
2024 Audio System Wish List I’m considering buying 20 - 25 foot xlrs and a new audio rack to move my equipment to the side wall. Not sure it will happen but pretty happy with everything else. |
