Frozen McIntosh MX135 š° I owned an MX135 and periodically it would lock up and I was always able to resolve the issue. I would unplug the unit and while unplugged I would toggle every switch on and off. The I would turn each dial to full extreme, doing this drains all ca...
Ground Hum with Rega RP6, Exact and TT PSU. Pivetta, I used the alligator clip clipped on the ground portion of the RCA jack. It was cumbersome and would work its way loose. But it did identify the problem. However if you have disconnected ed the Rt. Channel and the hum is there, this not t...
Ground Hum with Rega RP6, Exact and TT PSU. I had a similar issue years ago with a P25. Since Rega doesn't use a ground wire on the tonearm, I ended up getting the tonearm retired with the Incognito kit. That ended my issue, however I believe that Rega uses the right channel ground of the S...
Does anyone notice a reduction in sound quality when a tuner is part of ther audio chain? My first thought is grounding. What type of antenna are you using?Does the tuner have a 3 prong plug, if so try lifting the ground and also disconnect the antenna when you have it in the system and see if you can isolate the problem. Just a though.

Do re -wired BI wired speaker cables need break in time ? I remember hearing or reading years ago, that George Cardas had stated that anytime you move or re-position a cable, it will need some time to "settle in". I took that to mean a break in period, I would guess it would not be as long as when new, b...

Can't tell,if my house is properly grounded Do you have satellite tv? If so is there a phone line connected. I had trouble years ago and was able to acquire a isolater for the phone line and the buzz was gone. Another common contributor to this type of issue is the ground to the component. ...
Is it too bright or is it high resolution? I have always liked the "bright" highs, but I interpreted them as detailed. But as I aged, I find that my tastes have changed. Not wanting to dull the highs but to have the detail without the "Schrill" or piercing. I have begun looking to replace ...
2017 may be the year for a new cartridge for my LP12 I no longer have my LP12, but I went from a Troika to the Lyra Kleos. I was using a Linto at the time, but the Lyra sound has always seemed very natural and accurate without sounding over analytical. You may add one of the Lara's to your list of c...
Floor Protection Discs I have seen quarters used with great success. I realize they are 25 times as expensive of that of the pennies. But they do hold their value! In seriousness, I think the thicker coin helps, definitely worth the investment to try before you buy the ... |
