Bang for Buck
OP- dedicated room is a great start. Next is room treatments. Then a dedicated line. After that, any gear swap yields typically small but definitely noticeable changes, IMO
Anticable Cables: what do you like about them thread?
@drumsgreg - That's interesting! Thanks for the info about an option that might work for others too. Tom
I went to THE show and didn't make any friends ...
Thanks for the post, Erik. Having never been to a show since getting involved in this hobby in 1975 I appreciate and enjoy reading the opinions of others. To all the nay-sayers, we all hear differently. Unfortunately, too many think their opinion ...
Anticable Cables: what do you like about them thread?
@drumsgreg - Am I understanding you correctly that you bi-wired plus also used the jumpers?  The jumpers should NOT be used if you are bi-wiring (one run of speaker cable to the treble terminal, another run of speaker cable to the bass terminal on...
Schiit Modi Multibit Vs Magnavox CDB650 with Phillips chip
If I read your post correctly it seems that the Modi Multi sounded every "bit" as good as the vaunted (rightfully so) Mag 650. As the owner of a Modi Multi I'm pleased to hear that. Brand new, with a warranty, cute-looking, no dings or scratches, ...
Vincent Audio SV-500 Arriving Today
Another happy camper with a Vincent SP-331 amp. Sounds very natural, organic and slightly warm paired with a Schiit Freya and Vandersteen 2Cs. I'll be VERY surprised if you don't love it.Tom
Bang for Buck
The global answer is a meticulous setup and correct room treatment will give the biggest bang for the buck by far. The setup and room will determine at least half of what you will hear. No gear swap will yield that great a difference.Tom

@erik_squires -  " Sorry, what I meant to say is, given a choice, a medium sized 2-way in a great sounding room will outperform all other options in a poor room. "Agree 100%, with this caveat- any speaker design, in a great sounding room. will ou...

Happy listening, my friend, no matter what cable you prefer!
Anticable Cables: what do you like about them thread?
@ebm - sorry, you're on the wrong thread. You should post on the Anticables-Scam? thread. This thread is for those of us who like the Anti's. LOL! JK, we all know is this weird hobby there's always lots of opinions :).
Calling all Vandersteen Fans
Soft copper spades might likely sound better than gold-plated...
Calling all Vandersteen Fans
Bi-wire, bi-wire, bi-wire. Not doing that will degrade SQ.
Who are the Kings of Audiogon?
@mapman - you are correct. Your title is safe.
Who are the Kings of Audiogon?
@ahofer- nice link, thanks!
Anticable Cables: what do you like about them thread?
They sound good in my system, they are built well though the solder joints for a bi-wire setup are a little fragile, they offer good value, and they are a good company to deal with.
