Dac: Old vs New
Thanks for the responses. I forgot to say that I'm trying to stay under the $500 mark. Maybe that's being optimistic but that's what I'm hoping for. I also have a fairly modern DAC in a system called the MyDac from Micromega. I like it and it was ...
Nuforce Repair?
My NuForce P-8 went down about 5 months ago. I had Bob Smith fix/and upgrade it about 5 years ago. This time when it suddenly stopped powering up after initial turn on I tried reaching him to no avail. I eventually found a guy in Florida that work...

Hidden Gems in Pre-Owned Solid State Power Amplifiers?

Tekton Double Impacts
Yes, they are very sensitive to all changes made upstream and positioning as I've mentioned before. More so than any other speaker I own. But they don't sound bad with the changes , just different, so you can really season to taste. In contrast my...
Bybee Active Room Neutralizers
No. To leary of opening up my speakers (Tektons, Vandersteen and Maggies) for that. Although my friends that have Tektons have done it and it certainly works! I have been experimenting with placing them on back plates of cd players right next to w...
Tekton Double Impacts
Running my D.I's with a PSE Studio IV amplifier and it's beautiful. Just got my Counterpoint Solid 1A serviced. Counterpoint is Mosfet and PSE is Bipolar (I was told). Looking forward to hearing the differences when I hook up the Counterpoint. In ...
