Resolving Hum with Battery Back-up (EcoFlow) vs Power Conditioners: success vs failure
Cleaning the power won’t get rid of the hum. Changing grounding will. Agreed.  But the OP already stated that his amp has hum even with no interconnects attached.  So no ground loop since the only connections to the amp are power and the speakers...
Resolving Hum with Battery Back-up (EcoFlow) vs Power Conditioners: success vs failure
The OP has means, motivation and ability.  I would not judge him for his choices but rather work to understand how he chose the path he did.  The first round of this thread lack much pertinent information that left most of us guessing.   I too, w...

+1 carlsbad2.  Being an engineer I do not usually get along with physicists.  But you seem to be well grounded (pun intended) with a farm upbringing.  I remember those inverters in the 70s.  Power tools worked with them but they would get noticeab...
Where was the best reproduced sound you ever heard?
I was at the CES at McCormicks Place in Chicago in 1989.  The audio expo was in the hotel across the street.  In one of the large ballrooms they had four large electrostatic panels set up, I believe they were MartinLogan panels.  They were four la...
Ethernet cables
I have seen videos of Cardas assembling their cables.  They do not draw the wire themselves.  They say the wire is drawn in the Northeast from copper mined in the Southwest.  Perhaps the diagonal (ie from Southwest to Northeast) has something to d...
Any one measured the EMI/RFI attenuation performance of audiophile power conditioners?
Actually, I study the owners manuals online of products I am considering purchasing.  My brother says the owners manual/assembly instructions are just one engineer’s opinion.  My brother breaks things a lot.

Reference page 14 of the Niagara 5000 Owners Manual which can be found online.  That seems to list some of the noise reduction specs that you are seeking perhaps.

What will you do with the attenuation performance data of a power conditioner, if you ever get it?  Will you have the power coming into your home analyzed to determine the best fit power conditioner for your needs?  Is getting this performance inf...

Deep_333, I know what you are saying.  We had some test equipment that has to measure in the 6 ma range.  These stands were decades old but suddenly we could not get a quiet enough signal to pass final test.  My theory was that the new solar farm ...

Another thought is that in order to publish performance data and avoid litigation, manufacturers must maintain a test lab’s certification and calibration and possibly have their test results certified by an independent laboratory.  That is not che...

I know, it's like talking about the weather.  I have the Niagara 5000.  It is also an obvious improvement for me.  Expensive and not as much fun as buying an amp, DAC or speakers but the improvement in sound is unmistakable for me.

My first thought is manufacturers of PC’s prefer to keep their performance data proprietary as much as they can.  Why give their competitors easy access to performance data or also, it becomes a specification contest with no connection to sonic pe...

The problem is that too many variables exist to definitively say this PC will make this system sound better in this way or another system will sound about the same with or without the PC.  These manufacturers are making a product that reduces line...

EMI testing requires a Faraday cage.  The video with the FFT analyzer testing the effectiveness of a PC on an amp is fun to watch but keep in mind that this is a comparative test.  Like when we listen to a stereo component, we compare it to someth...
What the Best Dac have you heard or owned. How could you tell it was that good.
+1 phantom_av.  I find the Aeries Cerat Hele’ne captivating.  It’s not just the wonderful sound and large soundstage but the Hele’ne has rhythm and pace like analog.  I have not heard a lot of DACs in my home; but when I put the Hele’ne in my syst...
