Roger Waters and Graham Nash on The Band.
I remember the name Brinsley Schwarz but not their sound--will have to check them out.  I always thought the British band that sounded like The Band was the early Procol Harum.
God doesn't need to know what time it is.
bdp24--I owned an original ’65 Deluxe Reverb for 20 years and never understood why everyone else thought it was the desert island amp (and just where do you find electricity on a desert island?). I later found that what I really wanted was a Vibro...
Why is most everything remastered?
I don't have a lot of re-masters or re-mixes (mostly Beatles) but I haven't heard one yet that I didn't like.  I'm sure there are some out there. I much prefer the Beatles in stereo.  I know the stories about the mono vs. stereo mixes.  For me, l...
Beautiful Music That Reduce You To Tears
This comes to mind:
Is improvisational jazz to impressionism art as smooth jazz is to realism art?
No, but "burnt" is to "baccarat" as "icon" is to "teeter-totter."
I feel bad for GenX'ers that missed out on the 60s and 70s.
I'm with Orgillian.  There's nothing like hearing Are You Experienced come out of nowhere and turn the music world upside down.  If you hear later stuff first then you miss out and fail to realize the impact that had at the time.  If you hear Amy ...
Do you all agree when Prince said the 60s, 70s and 80s were the golden ages of music?
Many of what we consider jazz standards were written well before the 60's.  As far as pop/rock goes, I think the peak was '73.  There are certainly plenty of examples of exceptional songs written since then, but I think in general it's mostly down...
What Integrated Amp do You use
another Rogue Sphinx.  I think it's a lot of bang for the buck.
Why does a dent to a tweeter not affect sound quality?
you can apply gentle suction (such as sucking through a cardboard toilet paper thingie) and pop it back out.  Whether it remains popped out is another matter.
WHAT SONG TOUCHES YOUR HEART THE MOST?
Sam Stone--John Prine
Nicks or McVie.....
+1 for Peter Green.  What a voice!
Great Recordings, Sonically Speaking - and Why.
Robert Gordon/Link Wray (the one with the black-and-white cover, not the pink one).  Awesome recording.
Bobby Whitlock on All Things Must Pass.
I might add that years after the fact I discovered that a few of my favorite Harrison solos were actually played by McCartney--most notably Taxman and Drive My Car.  Must be nice to have so much guitar talent in one band.  John's few solos aren't ...
Bobby Whitlock on All Things Must Pass.
bdp24 I agree about George's solos--short, sweet, to the point and so well-crafted.  None better at what he did.

As with Let it Be, the un-Spectored tracks of John Lennon Rock and Rolll sound fresh and strong (they can be heard on the 4-disc Lennon Anthology set).  Apparently the sessions were one long drunken party but there's some good stuff in there IMO. ...
