Best Movie Soundtrack Can't forget "The Pink Panther" - classic Mancini!
Best Movie Soundtrack I'm not a HUGE soundtrack guy but there are a few I own that I enjoy alot. Gladiator is one of the best soundtracks I've heard in years! At this point, I should tell you that I define soundtracks as music written for a film, NOT a compilation of s...
Music for "Tough Times" When I'm feeling very blue (with a touch of being P.O.'d) I put on Pink Floyd's "The Wall" - and then stay felling that way. When I'm down and want to mellow out, it's gotta be "To Our Children's Children's Children" by the Moody Blues. Actually, ...
TV Interference/RF Noise??? Dave, Wish I could help you there. I can relate to your dilemma anout TV placement. Perhaps you can investigate shielding the tuner portion of the set. This would have to be done internaly within the TV by a qualified person but would probably be ...
Marble to place speakers on? I agree with the above comments/suggestions. At a prior home where I had a pier/beam foundation, I used marble slabs (but did not bolt the speakers to them) that I found at a rock shop while traveling through Arkansas. The results were impressive ...
Parasound vs. Bryston I can't say I've heard that particular model by Parasound but have heard many models of their amps. I have also listened to the Bryston. With my speakers and associated equipment, I preferred the Bryston. I felt the Bryston had the speed, finesse ...
TV Interference/RF Noise??? I'm not trying to sound like a smart-ass but I suggest you move the TV! Do you live in an apartment? I read an interesting article once about a problem just like you describe from someone who live in an apartment building. It turned out his TV was...
Help with Audio Alchemy DTI-PRO I turned out to be the DST cable. I used a standard coax as a replacement and got primary and secondary locks. The cable does work with the DTI+ however. Anyway, thanks to for the troubleshooting ideas.
Help with Audio Alchemy DTI-PRO Same reason I had to buy a chevy instead of a BMW :-)
Help with Audio Alchemy DTI-PRO Thanks for the help so far guys. I am at work currently but will try using a regular coax cable to substitute the AA powered cable. I'm sure it's not the cable though as the DTI-PRO is replacing a DTI+. The only thing "new" introduced is the DTI-P...
Best Travelin Music Depends on where I'm going, why I'm going there and who I'm with. For those long trips by yourself, nothing beats Neil Young (esp Harvet) or CSN!
The Beatles So I guess you got the answer(s) as to what our fascination is and why we like them:) I agree - to each their own.
The Beatles The impact of the Beatles is truly felt in today's music. A lot of groups have no musical growth or don't want to experiment for "fear" of changing their sound and alienating their fans. The Beatles were the kings of musical "growth" - you want pr...
Top Ten Interconnects of all time... Purist Audio Dominus not only is the most well-constructed cable but also sounds increadibly transparent and neutral. I do not own these (can't afford it) but a friend has them in his system - WOW. My other favorite (that I have heard) is the Audi...
Relief? The New Digital Players I have heard the SACD format and found it to be quite good - ablbiet it was a sample disc. My feeling is that SACD will fail as a "mass-market" format, while DVD-A will become the "mass-market" format of the future. The price will probably be such... |
