What would cause noise (ground noise?) when touching the volume control and tone controls?
I fixed it.  The left channel output ground wire had fallen out of its terminal block.  It's quiet now.  :)

@daveyf I'm going to not mention the manufacturer right now until I get a chance to speak with them about it.  I don't want to cause any issues for them in case the issue is really mine and not theirs. I did try the cheater plug to remove the gro...
What would cause noise (ground noise?) when touching the volume control and tone controls?
So I tried a few more things but I'm still getting the buzz/hum.  When I touch the ground stud on the back of the preamp (for the phono stage), it goes silent.  Maybe I can run an external ground wire?
What would cause noise (ground noise?) when touching the volume control and tone controls?
@audio-union  I just checked my outlet ground with my checker and it doesn't show any ground faults with the wiring.    @imhififan  I did a continuity check with my Fluke and it does beep when touching the center ground pin of the power cord an...

@audio-union Good idea, I can check with my little plug checker. That outlet may have an issue.

@daveyf  I really should put more detail when I post. Yes, it is a tube preamp. I did tap on them gently to see if I could detect anything.
What would cause noise (ground noise?) when touching the volume control and tone controls?
@atmasphere Yeah that's what it appears to be.  I'll reach out to him and maybe he can help me solve it without sending it back for some TLC.

@cleeds Ah... it's a "new to me" preamp, but it's a used unit.  Fairly new though. @antigrunge2 I don't have a phono setup, just a streamer connected to a DAC and the DAC connected to the preamp.  I can reach out to the preamp maker, just wanted...
Omega speakers -- mostly sold out, all the time?
He often has speakers for sale but they sell quickly. I have a pair of Super 3 XRS HO towers (may have butchered the model name) and they're my favorite speaker thus far. I run them with a 45 SET tube amp and also a Rogue Cronus Magnum 3. I wou...
If I wanted to make my own speaker cables, is this a good choice for wire?
@auroravengeance  Thanks for the suggestions, the Nanotec Golden Strada looks interesting.  I did a quick search and yeah, they appear to be hard to get.
Gustard R26
I heard a rumor about a version of the R26 without the built in streamer.  Any truth to this?  I would be interested in a DAC only version for sure.
If I wanted to make my own speaker cables, is this a good choice for wire?
Thanks for the suggestions and tips everybody.  I read every post.  :)
If I wanted to make my own speaker cables, is this a good choice for wire?
@mitch2 Sure, my setup is a Rogue Cronus Magnum 3, Chord Qutest, iFi Zen Stream and the Omega Super 3 High Output XRS speakers mentioned earlier. I don't have any specific goals in mind, I'm just looking to build some cables for something to do.
If I wanted to make my own speaker cables, is this a good choice for wire?
@vonhelmholtz  I found some conservations about it and was wondering if it was still viable.

Cool, I'm trying to find some examples where others built cables out of this wire... for some ideas.
