Aurender A20 or Lumin X1
re-lar-kvothe, Absolutely you are correct, you were specifically asking about those two units....and I truly believe both the A20 and X1 are truly amazing products (though I've only heard the X1 and A20 not in my system). And as so often happens,...
Aurender A20 or Lumin X1
Your question is kind of like asking do you prefer a BMW or a Porsche? That's something that sound quality should decide, but IMO you can't go wrong with either unit. However if it were my money, I'd go separates as others have suggested. An Aure...
Time To Upgrade My Digital Front End
Congratulations Navyachts, I think that you will be very happy....and I'm a bit jealous. Let us know how it all sounds once you've got it installed
Time To Upgrade My Digital Front End
Navyyachts and Curiousjim, I initially tried a borrowed N10 (last years version of the N20), and later tried an N200. I think the N10 can be found for about $3,500/$4,00 used, and a used N200 is about $5,000 if you can find one.....$6,300 new. I ...
Time To Upgrade My Digital Front End
IMO Auralic is a step below some of the other usual suspects (Innuous, Lumin, and Aurender). I personally would upgrade my streamer first, and see how you like it with the Gustard. You’ll have a world class streamer, and can always upgrade the DAC...
Resolving CD Transports Crowd Sourcing
OP, The Teac does look like a really good unit, but I’ve never heard it. I have auditioned the Jay’s CDT2 MkIII both in a friends system, and in mine. It is without a doubt the best CD transport I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing. Very detail...
Not sure for power conditioner my amp or not.
Smorenc, What a beautiful amplifier! I have the same VTA ST-120 with KT120 tubes, but it is nowhere near as beautiful as yours. My experience (and with the same amplifier as yours) is that it will definitely sound better plugged directly into th...
WHY CABLES MATTER!
Thanks Calvinj, it's much appreciated.....I may take you up on that offer, but at a later date. I'm working on a dedicated listening room being built in the basement, and it won't be completed to the end of the year.....probably later since there ...
WHY CABLES MATTER!
Calvinj, Yes and no that cables matter. The following is what I have found to be true, but that is in my $16,000 mid-fi system.....which I keep upgrading: (1) XLR cables versus single ended RCA - My system is "true balanced" on the solid state s...
Speaker cable recommendations
Thanks Soix, I'll read through the document.
Speaker cable recommendations
++++1 for AntiCables. The 2.1 speaker cables are great entry level cables, but for mid fi and up, I'd start with the 3.1 cables......at $250 per 6 foot pair with Z bananas, they are an absolute steal. I have not tried them, but the 4.2 Flex cables...
Service After the Sale
ghdprentice, Agreed, but 99% of the world communicates by text and emails....I would have thought that to be a logical start.....additionally, it is the only way of contacting the them as found on their "About Us" page
Service After the Sale
Marco1, Here's hoping. They are selling a commodity and a service, if you don't add anything to the equation why would I pay your mark up? My ideal dealer: friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and honest staff. Trade up program. Loan or try out pe...
Does the Audio press ever excite you anymore?
OP, I find the print media to be almost useless, except for Stereophile and TAS. I do watch youtube reviews, but take them with a heavy grain of salt....for me I only use them for finding new products. My purchase pattern usually is (and yes I k...
Service After the Sale
In my case I have purchased products from companies that have a "direct to consumer" distribution model; but I definitely researched their pre-sales support and their repair models. +++1 for Alvin Chee and Vinshine Audio (Denafrips distributor in...
