Dynaudio C1, why so expensive? Richard, any plans on heading down to Sound Hounds again? I'll be there again and this time bringing home a pair of Focus 220 mkII to demo.
Speaker power handling I think they only have the 40 watt integrated on the floor. I have tried it at home before, paired with a single driver 94db. efficient Fostex speaker. It will be interesting comparing the sound with this amp driving a 4 ohm load of the Dynaudio. ...
Speaker power handling I'm using my old PSE amp because of the lower power and easily within the limits of the Dynaudio without worries. With fussy speaker loads the Classe easily bests the PSE including the Bryston 4bsst.Dynaudio also distributes the German made Octave...
Speaker power handling The Classe has been sitting idle since the sale of the Magnepans thus the temptation to try it.My last audition was a single driver speaker with an 18w set amp. The midrange was fantastic but lacked dynamics.I'm hoping to try something different t...
Speaker power handling These ATC speakers look interesting. Is there a dealer that carries them in the U.S. or Canada? Vandersteen 2ci's since sold, were in my system for over 15 years. I'm not if the newer signature versions are more alive sounding as my 2ci's were a t...
Speaker power handling Thanks again for the replies. Another speaker in my current home theatre setup that I have dragged into my 2 channel system on occasion is an older pair of Paradigm Studio 100 v2 speakers that just crank and sound fantastic for the first 10 minute...
Speaker power handling My listening distance is around 9 feet with nothing between me and the speakers. Several months ago my tiny Paradigm Titans were destroyed with too much power applied so I chickened out trying it again. My local dealer also carries B&W, Audio N...
Speaker power handling The demo of these tiny monitors was to get a sense of the Dynaudio house sound without lugging around their larger series floorstanders.Although small, they sound surprisingly larger and for a 2 way design they are very coherent.Shadorne: Thanks f...
Speaker power handling Ok then, this makes me a bit more confident to give it a try. Previously driving my Magnepan 3.6r's with the Classe didn't seem to be enough power. I'm aware of too low of power and clipping resulting damaging the tweeters, and sometimes too much ...
speakers close to the back wall ? The Audio Note E's gave boomy bass in my room against the back wall and corners and not until they were 3ft. back was it controlled.Try before you buy.I'm using a floorstanding single driver no crossover speaker with front slotted ports from Plane...
Best Late Night Low Volume Speaker I agree with Beavis, I've gone from Vandersteens to Magnepan 3.6r's and both needed at least 85+db spl to sound dynamic with my Classe 400 watt amp. After listening to speakers with no crossovers with high efficiency along with tube amplification t...
Classe Audio CAM 350 mate with Revel Salon Ultima I have the Ca400 stereo amp paired with Magnepan MG3.6r's and the sound is real smooth. The Cam350 I'm sure will have a similar sound that will tame forward sounding tweeters.
Magnepan 1.6 vs. B&W 805N As Jallen mentioned, more power will open up the maggies with high quality power. I've added a Classe CA400 to my MG3.6r's and couldn't believe what I was missing. Not sure on your room dimensions but make sure there is ample space behind/around the...
Amp and speakers combo- Magnepan MG 1.6/QR Having more power will also give an increase in bass which will provide better balance and control of the speaker.Make sure your room is not contributing to your brightness issues. Absorbtion, diffusion etc.
Bryston 4B SST-squared vs Classe CA-2200 I had a chance to compare a 4bsst to a Classe Ca400 with my Magnepans for a weekend home demo. Although the Ca400 puts more power, the entire frequency range was more controlled.I could not listen to the Bryston for extended periods before reachin... |
