Perhaps unintentional but I found this thread one of the most enlightening ever posted on this forum. I was amazed by how many post were relatable to my situation. I have no idea what my wife will do with my system when I get unplugged however I plan to enjoy it everyday until my batteries expire. 

My optimally well done system cost peanuts...

I cannot sell "acoustic knowledge" and cannot even give it in legacy...

I am not really an audiophile. I studied and experiment to learn how to make the best with any relatively good piece of gear...

I listen music right now and forgot my system ....

@smodking1 - My thoughts are that manufacturers of products that appeal to a tiny niche, which is what audiophile gear is in the grand scheme of things, would be wasting incredible amounts of money advertising in high-profile, general purpose magazines like People or Sports Illustrated, and ads in those publications dwarf the price of ads in niche high-fi publications. 

The audiophiles may soon be a thing of the past.How many of you know of anyone in their teens,or twentys,with a stereo system?If the music isn't on their phone,they are not interested.
