ADD HINGES to existing removable DUST COVER

I have the two arm plinth CL-P2 now, may end up with the 3 arm CL-P3 plinth.

Dust cover is big, heavy, 1/4" thick, must remove it, place it  somewhere, back on each listening session, each time potential disaster, scuff marks will accumulate.

I am thinking of adding hinges, 3 probably, like this one has

Lift up/off hinges would be nice.

This one, larger and starting higher would be HUGE looking when open, that's unacceptable.
Good point Elliott. How about a system of pulleys so you can raise it straight up to the ceiling when your using the TT. Think the better half would approve? LOL

My current removable system works now as you know, but as I approach enfeeblement, a crash down upon my Blackbird would put me in the hospital with apoplexy whatever that is (doesn't sound good).
I should have been more clear, it was the character Emily Litella, an old woman with a hearing problem, played by Gilda Radner
