I have to agree that it was a good get together. Lots of good conversation and music. @2psyop was a gracious host and his room set up was interesting in a good way. It certainly maximizes the space available and allows multiple flavors of sound. It was good to meet members @milpai and @hbarrel and hearing about their set ups. I am looking forward to getting together again for another listening session.
Anyone interested in an audio get together in Northest Ohio?
Planning an audio get together in early March 2023 in the Cuyahoga Falls area of Ohio. Anyone interested in coming? I have met a few cool friends, milpai, mike d, cris, jeff g and josh a few months back. Gonna try to have a go at another GTG at my place...if schedule(s) can align.
@2psyop , Indeed it was a fun session listening to your 4+ systems! You have a great spouse who remembers the model of the first receiver you purchased after engagement. Man that was a great story. I am baffled by the number of components you own. Finally got to listen to the Tetons and was impressed by the music they made. Nice to meet @csmgolf, learn about his system and experiences. He shared some nice songs on the CDs he got. Overall a very nice get together and I thoroughly enjoyed the company. |
Thanks @hbarrel Yeah we had a great time again in listening session #3. Csmgolf from the older Erie audio group (circa 2019) came east to join us. Very cool and it’s great to invite him into the fold. He has lots of knowledge and experience and fun to talk with. The participants were milpai, hbarrel, csmgolf, and myself. Apparently we are all lucky with the great systems we have and have adopted a gentlemanly way of getting together and enjoying the music and conversation. Imagine that. Good times and thanks to everyone who came by. |
We had a wonderful gathering @2psyop abode. He is a lucky man. His wonder spouse allows him to have a listening room. Rather unique setup. He has two sets of speakers. And two systems for each set of speakers. Thank you William. |
I was in a different group with @2psyop and would be interested in being a part of this group and meeting others and see / hear their systems. |
You are welcome! It was a great evening and I was glad that you guys were able to listen to my system and provide feedback. My ultimate moment was when @hbarrel sarted clapping at the end of one song. He was so engrossed in the performance!! Thank You both for sharing new music and great conversation. Looking forward to hearing your system(s) @2psyop |
Well we have had our second audio listening session and milpai was the host this round. I can say it was another great time listening to truly marvelous equipment and milpai was accommodating and gracious. Thanks milpai! I kept thinking about the song "Listen to the Music" by the Doobie Brothers because despite the ever changing gear (which always comes and goes)... the fun part of the audiophile brotherhood is wonderful music, great conversation and also building some cool friendships. Sometimes the gear sounds sublime and exquisite... but above all the music is the fuel and we three have been listening to of all kinds of music during our audio sessions- bluegrass, soul, blues, pop, electronic music, classic rock, folk, jazz and some artists that are more obscure or hard to define. Exploring music and sharing that experience makes if a blast for me. So @hbarrel and @milpai thanks alot for the ride. You guys are teaching me about your hifi knowledge and I am also enjoying the musical journey. Very cool. |
@hbarrel I am looking forward to host you and @2psyop later this week. It is always good to hear different systems, get the owner’s perspective, and then look for improvement opportunities in your own system. I like the "open layout" that you have - because it gives the music, some room to bloom. I don’t have that choice. So let’s see if that works for you guys. |
Let’s hope our experience in Northeast Ohio can spark other audio get togethers in other areas- anywhere audiophiles can talk and enjoy music together. There is so much to share and learn from each other, even if it’s just sharing artists and songs. We have a good small group here but I know there are others just like us that could expand their own musical journeys. @hbarrel and @milpai- I too really enjoyed talking with you guys. I agree, so many ways to get great high fidelity sound. |
