Arctic Monkeys

I just bought the import CD, and on first listen found it very compelling. For a bunch of 20 year olds, they sure know how to write a song. Nice, lively production too!

Very much the sound of the streets and a generation.

Very British and very reflective of British working/underclass culture.

Musically-raw,energetic and guitar driven,loose but structured.

The hype has been incredible but it's hard not to be impressed,the band are mostly 19.

Personally I do not like Arctic Monkeys, but if you want an excellent debut album (imo) by another 19-20 year old British band, you must listen to The Music. The c.d. is self titled. I have yet to listen to their second album.

Spiritualized: I live in NYC and my corner record shop is saying the CD won't be released in the U.S. until the third week of February. Did you buy it in the U.S. and if so, where? (Not that I can't wait).

I hope the group is as much of a turn on as the samples I heard at AMG.

After listening, I purchased their LP from a vendor in England and should have it in a week or two.
