I know this is an old thread but I’m in a bit of a quandary. I currently have a pair of 705 s2’s. I have an opportunity to purchase a used pair of 805 D3’s in mint condition locally. Unfortunately, I can’t run an A/B comparison. I’ve heard the D3’s before but not on my system. I’ve heard the 705’s may sound better at lower levels. Don’t know if this is true. Would I be crazy to pass up a pair of black D3’s for $4400?
