The amp probably will see some advantage from using the balanced input. This is due to the fact that its input stage isn't perfect and will be lower distortion driven balanced.
Balanced Signal Path Question
So I have a condition where I have a single ended source output feeding into a passive TVC volume control which then outputs via a balanced signal to my power amp.
My DAC is a Metrum Amethyst, passive is a promithius standard TVC, and my power amp is a red dragon s500.
The root of my question is whether a passive TVC that is truly balanced can convert a single ended signal to a balanced signal. Both my amp and passive are true balanced conponents and I would like to have the benefits of that, possible running a long interconnect between my passive and power amp.
