Best Outdoor Speakers to Withstand the Winter?

Hi Guys,

I was wondering which type of outdoor speakers I should buy, not only in terms of sound quality (which is still, of course, the most important factor) but also in terms of withstanding the winter snow and stuff.

I still haven't decided which type of speaker to buy, but going off this guide, I have to say that patio speakers sound pretty cool and I noticed that B&W has the AM-1 (http://www.bowers-wilkins.eu/Speakers/Installation-Speakers/Outdoor-Marine/AM-1.html) and since I really like B&W it seems like a pretty good choice - however, I am still worried about the weather.

It says "weatherproof" but I have no experience with exposing audio equipment to the elements.

Any advice or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

At least B&W was smart enough to forego the use of Kevlar for this application.

There's, no such thing as a weather proof speaker. Be smart with them and you won't have to worry about longevity, i.e. take them inside when there's an impending hurricane or blizzard. At the very least, cover them with a plastic trash bag during the winter.
