Bryston Bda-3 and Audiophilleo

Hello, On my older Bda-1, I used a Audiophilleo s/pdif  W purepower, to bring up the Usb Inputs a couple of notches thru the BNC port. Will this still be beneficial with my Bda-3?Any transport recommendations?

If you are going from USB to the BNC, then it wouldn't hurt anything for sure, and you have to convert the formats anyway.  However, if you are looking for a CD transport get one with a digital output and use a 75 Ohm rated cable, since the BDA-3 input is designed expressly for that.   If you are streaming instead of CD's, I would look for the same output for the same reasons.   USB X.anything was not really designed for audio work and there is no point in starting with something inferior and fixing the problem on the fly.   It is better to design out the problem up front.  There is a USB standard designed for audio but it has not gained wide acceptance, unfortunately.
I am one to agree with spatialking. I also had the A/wPP and the BDA-1. When I purchased a new DAC the USB input was improved over the one in the BDA-1 (asynchronous). Sold the A/wPP and the BDA-1. Never did a comparison between the A/wPP and the USB input on the new DAC. I have gotten away from computer (USB) use on this system.

You would need to do this comparison for yourself with your USB source.
