I'm a big fan of the Schiit Multi-Bit DACS. Currently own three of them. They were the first DACs I had that sounded like "music" and not "digital". I had earlier, non Multi-Bit boards in my BiFrost, and although they were nice, were not nearly as involving as the Multi-Bit. Once I heard Multi-Bit I moved ahead to primarily digital as a source.
Budget level Dacs from Schiit---Will it make a difference?
I'd like to upgrade my already low budget but respectable Onkyo c-7030 cd player. My system is a Rega P6 turnatble, Parks Audio Puffin phono pre, Triangle Antal XS speaker, Acurus LS11 Preamp (recently nicely modded) and a MCormack 250 power amp.
I don't want to invest much into the digital as most of my listening is not sitting dead center on the sofa but more as I'm moving around the house..and I do like playing my music a little on the loud side. Does anyone have experience with the Schiit Modi Multi Bit ($249) vs Schiit Modius ($199)? Will they make a much of an audible, improved difference? I know they offer the 15 day return policy but not sure that's enough time. I was considering the Marantz 6006/6007 but the price took a substantial jump in the last 6 months.
