Cables for JBL L-112

Hi,

I am looking for speaker cables (warm, neutral) with a good resolution. I have a pair of JBL L-112 speakers connected to a Mac7200 receiver. The speaker cables I have are basic level.

I was wondering if someone can recommend decent cables for my set up.

Thanks

Chris

If your cable runs are 12' or less I recommend this solid core copper bulk cable with bare wire ends in 22 gauge.

If you balk @ such a skinny wire you could go with a larger diameter (up to 16) and it will still sound good (just not as good as the 22).

What’s your budget, how long do they need to be, what connectors are you looking for, and are you open to used cables?

@cfvogel As was already mentioned it would be really helpful to know the length of cable needed and a ball park budget.

Thanks everybody for the good ideas about speaker cables. I actually need one short 4 feet cable and the other one I need a 16 feet cable with banana plugs or bare wire in the 200 to 300 dollar range used.

Given the odd lengths it’s unlikely you’ll find used cables.  I’d call Pine Tree Audio as they make good, high-value cables

Ice Age Audio may be even better but might need to stretch your budget a bit but well worth a call.

Best of luck.

I have a perfect  cable for your setup, the Wireworld Eclipse -8;Loudspeaker  cables

7-9s pure Copper  Big AWG-9   It’s a very respectable  cable quality and value .

@cfvogel I use the Canare 4S11 speaker cables with my JBL L100 Classic speakers. Not bright at all, smooth with great bass slam. I’m also using them in my main system with GE Triton Refs speakers.

Keeping your speaker cables the same lengths is not a bad idea either; makes at least as much sense as trying to tune a system with wires.

Good suggestions, definitely check out Ice Age up in Traverse City, MI ... I have been enamored with designs from Pine Tree Audio as well:

Mogami also highly rated ...
