Question to All Caladan owners - Are you happy with bass response ?

Don't have my pair yet, but can tell you bass response is very much room dependent for any set of speakers.  Bass notes are long wavelengths and form nulls (soft bass) and peaks (loud bass) in a room when the reflected bass sound waves cross.  So placement of speakers within your listening room and where you sit makes a huge difference in the perceived bass response, as do bass trap room treatments.
