I notice some difference in the videos from the OP. The sound signature is the same, but Termi seems to be more at ease and drives with authority. I notice the difference mostly in vocals and the chimes (not sure if chimes is the right word)
Denafrips Terminator vs. Venus
I found a page on the Denafrips' site with two Youtube videos for comparison, but can't hear a difference through headphones. Anyone been able to compare them back to back in the same system?

Do not agree Conos1983. I'll support an earlier honest comment that the Terminator and Venus sounded NO different in the 2 poorly recorded videos. I do not know how and through what equipment chain the YouTube recording was made, but it was NOT thru a professional chain, which would be the ONLY way to achieve sonic results that would lend themselves to a fair comparison. The treble was painful to listen to, while the 'so called' acoustic piano sounded like a dirt cheap electronic acoustic sample using 30 yr old sample technology. The attack and decay of that piano was anything but realistic. BUT AGAIN, I attribute the poor audio in the videos to the manner in which the 2 videos were recorded....probably thru an I-phone or some other non-professional digital recorder. |
@mact3333 I can't comment on the original Terminator, but went from Venus 2 to Terminator Plus. Everything was a step up and well worth it to me. That said, the Venus is great. In isolation, I was and would be completely content. |
