It’s a streamer, a Bluetooth receiver, an Airplay device, and an amplifier. You can feed an Echo Dot in the 3.5mm input, but have the option of all the rest too. Toon recognises it as an endpoint. Mine drives a pair of recycled Mark Audio 11MS drivers easily. I built it into a single wide ply box sized up using an online calculator, divider in the middle, drivers at either end. Because the drivers were from somewhere else, the total cost was less than £100.
Before hands are thrown up in horror... it sounds great in the kitchen! And it is wipe clean and has a single plug for everything.
