Florida -- Audio Equipment Movers?

We will be moving next month from the Miami Beach area to the Treasure Coast of Florida -- about 140 miles.  The last time we moved -- during the pandemic, 4 years ago -- the movers damaged or destroyed several costly pieces of audio equipment, including speakers, and we had to file an insurance claim.

I'd like to avoid repeating that experience.  Do any of you A'goners have suggestions as to who we could hire to move the audio equipment (and an OLED TV) from Miami Beach?  The usual household stuff will be moved separately, but I don't trust regular movers to move speakers, etc. safely.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

That is a tough call considering you are in Florida.

My experience with almost every business down there is they’re full of dishonest, incompetent, flight by night clueless yahoos who wouldn’t last a week in business up North. Not stating there aren’t good people there, there are, but the state seems to attract the dregs of America.

I personally would rent a small U haul truck and pack and move them myself. It's not that far a drive and the peace of mind knowing they'll get safely to your new home will be more than worth the slight inconvenience.

@thecarpathian sounds like you've been spending too much time on social media.   Care to share what us Californians are like?

I would definitely move audio gear on my own and let the movers move the rest of it. Big TVs are a very common item for movers I wouldn't worry too much about them moving that.

@carlsbad2 ,

No, I’ve been spending too much time in Florida. I speak from experience or I don’t speak. I’ve lived a lot of years in Florida. I’ve lived in more than a few areas of Florida. I currently have a house in Florida. I have first hand knowledge of what I stated.

As far as what I can share about what you Californians are like, I can’t speak to that as I’ve never lived there and have no experience with California businesses. I’ve been there, though. Beautiful state, nice people.

Did you not see the part of my post where I stated "In my experience..."?

I would ask my local shop if it is a service they offer. My local has delivered, and set up at my home, my speakers as well as my vinyl rig.
