Gallo Ref 3.1s: TWO per channel??

Has anyone tried Two Gallo ref 3.1s per channel. Pierre at Mapleshade highly recommends this setup. My understanding is he wires each channel in series and has them facing in opposite directions (toward and away from the listener). I have not heard this arrangement but wonder if imaging is significantly improved (or not)? Similar to electrostatics radiating front and back?
Thank you for your comments.

Sure - and three or four in a series/parallel array should sound absolutely fantastic! Especially if you're an AG dealer. I'm with the map man, if you want better imaging than you already get with the Ref 3.1s, go with a speaker that has been designed to peform in bi/omni directional mode.
2 pair sounds like a kludgy attempt at a more omnidirectional sound.

I'd look at something comparable but inherently more omnidirectional in the $4000-$5000 price range first, like a larger pair of OHMs perhaps.
Ask him how selling you 2 pairs for the price of 1 sounds. 1 pair should be good enough. I heard a pair w/ and without the bass amp. You don't really need the extra expense of the bass amp unless your hell bent on rattling the windows. The 3.1's sound great. Good luck.
