HELP Esoteric UZ-1

I could use a little input. I use an Esoteric UZ-1 for redbook cd and to me my system always sounded a little thin, about a month ago I purchased a Sony BDP-S5000ES for Blu Ray, but out of curiosity I did an A/B comparison between the 2 players with redbook cd.

Esoteric: better imaging more detail and a little more forward, thin in the bass.

Sony: better in the bass, imaging not as precise and a little veiled.

Suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
