Impedance macthing pre-amp amp need advice

Hello,I need some advice on how to best match impedancesbetween the pre-amp and amp.I own a AR vt1OOmk2 and I'm thinking about running a balanced pre into it.What should I look for in matching the impedances?thanks mike

Please view these threads from the forum archives: there are others on impedance matching too (if you use the search engine to find them) but these are some that I have posted to...

The standard rule of thumb: OUTPUT impedance of pre TO INPUT impedance of power amp, 1:10. So, if the VT's INPUT impedance is, say, 100, the pre's OUTPUT impedance should be 10 (or less) for best effects.

Sean, BobBundus & others can further elaborate much better than I.

Cheers!
