Least compressed

Looking for recomendations for least compressed (wide dynamic range) rock - in particular Zeppelin. Only recomendations of cds that are readily available (i.e. via amazon) - not worth time and effort to me to look for hard to find gems. Aerosmith - etc also welcome. Please identify as precisely as possible.

Rock recordings of that era are notoriously compressed. While I like Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith very much, both bands put out some of the worst recordings ever, especially when transferred to cd.You might want to pick up a Japanese engineered re-release,they usually do a decent job.Check out cdjapan at the link below.Be aware,if you order from them,it will take approximatly a month to recieve your package.Good luck.

Aerosmith Gold box set of their first three albums is pretty good. (Remastered by Doug Sax)
Rave reviews on How the West Was Won in multi-ch disc. Not sure if it's sacd or dvd-a.
Owner of a Lonely Heart by Yes is a nice mix but try Midnight Oil Earth Sun and Moon or INXS

For something recent check out Booker T and the Drive by Truckers with Neil Young - Potato Hole - Pound it Out.

The latest ACDC - Black Ice is good too.
Frozen Wasteland

Awesome stuff - for those of you in Washington DC with record snowfall you will love this video
