Métronome connecting streamer to Le Dac?

I was wondering if there are members on this forum who own Métronome equipment and can share their experiences in connecting their streamer to Le Dac2. Métronome advices an i2S/HDMI cable. However, when I ask Métronome dealers I get mixed answers. Some recommend to use SPDIF or XLR. Others recommend USB or, indeed, i2S. It seems, not all of them have lots of experience with i2S connections. I am using now a cheap no-brand HDMI cable next to a much more expensive coax cable. The coax sounds better, smoother, but I need to listen very carefully to hear the difference. There are a few dedicated i2S only cables like the Tubulus line, AfterDark (Hongkong) and some Chinese ones. Not too many... Which i2S cables/brands would you recommend me to try without breaking the bank (again)?
