Midrange/treble harshness at volume

I have a Hegel 160 amp. Cambridge CXN v2 streamer and Bryston Middle T speakers.
When I listen at volumes up to about 75 db I love the sound, when I turn it up 80-90 db I find that the midrange and treble become quite harsh and un enjoyable.
I have a small room 12 x 13, could it be room issues?
Thoughts?

Order a pair of free standing GIK 244 panels for first reflection absorption.  I had the same problem and the 244 panels fixed it instantly.
If my numbers are right you’re getting a lot of cancelation on the bottom and that makes the mids / highs much more forward. I think a bass fix will help. Address the first reflection points behind, over your head, and in front of you on the floor.

The ROOM is the usual, problem. a full 1/3 of SQ, ay..

Room correction an option?

Going kitty corner will help a lot too..

Have fun.
