Ming Da MC767-RD Tube Phono Stage

I guess it is the same as meixing Chineese made and they look similar.Please check the website seiki.com.I understand they are well made products and perform well.There is a brief review of it some where.

Lasercd: $1000 is a lot of money for phono stage--i.e., you can get very good gear for that money. A used MFA Magus C with great phono stage costs about $6-700. Counterpoint SA-5000, Audible Illusions Modulus, and Audio Research SP series are within your price range, and they are very good gears.

Thanks for the comment. I am using an Aloia preamp in my office system and I am quite happy with it. Unfortunately the phono card is functioning erratically and it's easier to just pick up an inexpensive phono stage. I'm not looking to replace the preamp.

The best piece going (and made in the US to boot) for anywhere near that price is the wright wpp100c. I have heard and played with the mingda- it has some issues, bad hum, grounding problem ? hard to say. cheaply built. I was not impressed - it seemed about like most of the gear from china these days - much about looks, little about quality control. ASL is the only decent chinese brand I have seen and heard so far. Opera/Consonance has some decent looking/sounding stuff too but not sure on phono.

If we go to walmart a good perentge of them are from China.
I ordered one and sent to to bolder cables for upgrade.
It comes with phono.The upgrade is fro rewiring, capacitor and diodes etc.(250$)

Very well build, poor sound. Sound is tiny, lack of bass, shouting mids and vocals, low resolution, not enough gain. The schematic they use is probably the schematic I tried 20 years ago. Only two of the tubes are used for phono stage. The others are power supply. There is a mistake in the power supply. It still works, but not the way supposed to be. I modified mine Ming Da phono. Totally change the conception. Add MC step up transformers also. The imrovement is amazing!!!! Now is so detailed warm, open. It's like nigh and day. Even I like it. I am very critical to the sound. Modification cost me extra $250.00
