I had the 2M Black here, as well as the 2M LVB250, not the Concordes, and unfortunately, I would buy the LVB250. Interestingly, and this certainly speaks to matters of taste, I prefer the Quintet Blue to both by a good bit, and it is half the cost. But it is a low output MC so high gain phono is required. Good luck!
Ortofon Concorde Music Black or Ortofon Concorde Music LVB 250?
Hi group,
Could use your opinion: I have a Technics SL1200GR, and I'm considering a couple options for cartridges: Ortofon's Concorde Music Black or the more expensive Concorde Music LVB 250. I understand the LVB has the better boron cantilever, but for anyone who's heard both, is the LVB worth the extra $400?
Another option I have is KAB's Reloop (made by Ortofon) Concorde Black 40, which has a Frtiz Gyger 70 stylus. I bought it a few years ago and it's been in its box, unopened. Should I just use that instead? Kevin at KAB tells me it's a pretty good cartridge.
What do you folks think?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
