PS Audio NuWave announced

And I was just about to pull the trigger on a $499 DL3 from MusicDirect. With all the raves about the DL3, I'm having trouble deciding whether the NuWave is worth twice the price.

Does anyone with DL3 experience have any thought?

It looks like you get an improved USB interface (the DLIII downsamples to 16/44 before upsampling) and the option to run files in native mode rather than upsampling redbook. Probably worth the price difference to some people. I have a DLIII and don't plan on changing anytime soon.
Curious if anyone has an opinion about the previous model PS Audio or the new one, compared to Ayre QB-9.

The PS dac in my listening experience was bettered somewhat easily by the Q9

I'd pitch for the Ayre

I do like the idea of having "native mode". Not being able to A/B up-sampling has always been a concern for me.
Considering the Ayre QA-9 is more than 5x the price of the PS Audio Digital Link III... it better be significantly better (especially since the QA-9 lacks optical and coaxial inputs to boot).

Ever hopeful, I wish for better than what I have. Occasionally the new entry, low price piece surprises everyone and is the winner.
Whoops, I should have put "better" in quotes. There seems to be a real sweet spot for DAC's in the <=$1,000 price range... both for consumers and the manufacturers.
