there is no need for roon compatibility unless the dac can also control volume
if not the roc will work fine.
Roon ROCK and DACs
Looking at purchasing a Denafrips or HoloAudio DAC. I use ROON on a ROCK and connect to the DAC directly using a USB cable (no streamer). The Denafrips or HoloAudio DACs are not listed as ROON compatible. Will either of these DACs work when connected directly or must I use some sort of a ROON Bridge? I hoping I don’t need to use an intermediary component. Can anyone who has tried this offer some first hand experiences?
