Silver is the appropriate color for everything but speakers.

i find black lettering on silver easier to read than white on black. Especially in low light.

I did an extensive comparison of two colors and found that silver components sound slightly brighter. The black ones tend to sound darker but do a better job of disappearing especially at night.

Two exact amps. One in silver, one in black. The silver amp sounds bright, the dark one sounds gloomy.
