Something on top of a speaker=okay?

We have a (toy) stuffed dog laying on top of one of our floorstanding speakers. Does this affect the sound?  

Do I need to find an identical breed of stuffed dog to put on the other speaker to maintain balance? Does it matter if it's a dog, an elephant or a cute bunny? What about the color? We can dye the dog's fur if that improves the soundstage.

Totem and Mapleshade recommend something on top, I think Totem's is called the Beak...certainly an easy self test, but can't imagine the stuffed animal helping your sound...

I won't buy speakers that don't have a flat top.  Too convenient for stacking stuff on top of.

If you want to put stuffed animals on your speakers you absolutely need to measure them for size down to a couple thousandths of an inch and weight to 1mg otherwise your soundstage will be total crap 💩.
