Get some quote from piano movers.They will wrap the speakers and treat them with care.They will have a lift gate on their truck.If it was me i would spend the money.I would imagine piano movers in NYC are a hearty breed and have seen it all,and done it all. Good luck.Make sure you cover the fronts with several layer of cardboard and tie it on.
