Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium

Looking to upgrade from paradigm sigs8v2. Willing to buy new or used.  My room is 12x16x8 ft. Looking for floor standers. Trying to get away from beryllium in case of kids accidentally damage them.

Thanks.

Prof,
l have been there many times and found no such issues. They were always friendly and accommodating.
Since you have Paradigm’s now, I’m not sure why you’re not considering Personas that have Beryllium - which are completely protected?  Short of your children taking a hammer to them, there’s no way to damage the tweeters or midranges.  The acoustic PPA Lens covers are made of metal.  The difference you’ll hear moving to these over your Signatures will make those sound as if they’re broken.

Here’s the link to the Persona’s configurator where you can build them like any way you choose like building a car online.  Good luck in search!

I like the Rockport Avior speaker.  The current model is a bit out of your price range ($38,000 US), but, older used models might be available.  This is a speaker on the warmer side of neutral.

There are Canadian brands that you should be able to audition, such as Gershman, that are pretty nice sounding.

You have a pretty good list of foorstanding speakers you are interested in, and they do span a range of different kinds of sound, so I think you will have a decent idea of what is out there if you can actually audition these speakers.  I have a few more suggestions:

ProAc floorstanders with the ribbon tweeter.  The bigger models might be a bit too much for your room (they tend to be a bit bass heavy), but, worth an audition because they sound so good.

German Physiks--these speakers use an unconventional bending wave driver that is omni-directional (like MBL) and sound quite good in a room of your size.

Good luck on your search.
smodtactical,
I'd enjoy reading a bit more detail on your auditions, impressions of the Joseph speakers and what grabbed you about the Yamahas.  I've heard the Yamaha speakers at shows and they were certainly attention grabbing!
@prof
Ok so I went on a bit of an audio tour today. I am going to write up some full impressions on my website soon, sonic visions dot org.

But briefly.

Executive stereo
Joseph audio perspective 2 graphene: This was not in an ideal setup it was kind of in a tiled hall way that is very wide, but was impressed with the dynamics, clarity and huge sound for such a small speaker. Sadly dealer not willing to budge from msrp so will pass on these.

Kennedy hifi
Sopra 3: Very precise crystalline top end.. kind of reminded me of the precise sound of the persona that I heard at the same dealer. Excellent imaging, separation.

Yamaha NS 5000: Wow. Now bear in mind that it was a huge room they were in but not optimal. Incredible holographic imaging... acoustic images float in the air around you like projections.. the speakers completely disappear, very pure clear yet somehow extremely musically intoxicating sound. Although the sopra 3 was maybe a hair bit more detailed or possibly leaner... the yamaha had the better imaging, more lifelike natural timbre. I am extremely impressed.

Going to think hard on this.
