Leland Sklar also played bass in the band "Barefoot Servant" back in the '90"s lead by Jon Butcher. First album was very good though not as laid back as those quoted in the article. However it was one of those 'very good 90"s groups which were there at the wrong time in history.

@artemus_5...Thanks for the mention of "The Barefoot Servants"!  Never heard of them, but found (2) albums via streaming.

Glad to hear it. The 2nd album they did was 10 yrs after their 1st. I haven't listened to the 2nd that much but the 1st is stellar IMO. First heard it playing in a record/CD store back then. Asked who it was and bought it immediately. Love their rendition of "It Hurts Me Too". But there is plenty more good stuff on it. Enjoy.
