Traveling Wilburys? What gives?

Hi all,

I just logged onto Amazon to purchase some music (good prices, no tax, free shipping, GREAT customer service) and "The Traveling Wilburys" came to mind as one of those cds that I just never got a round to buying 15 years ago.

Much to my surprise, I found that it's out of print. Can this be? I saw that there are some individuals selling used cds for $30 to $45.

It just seems odd that such a popular album (in its' day) would be out of print. Has it been released under another name? Is there some legal dispute over licensing and or royalties?

Any information would be appreciated.

On another note, I just picked up Nickel Creek's second CD at Target for $12 and was blown away. These kids are talented beyond their years. I've since ordered the debut album from Amazon and will be attending a Nickel Creek concert on Friday night in the small Central California town of Hanford (home of Vandersteen). Maybe I'll see Richard there?

The op said that he couldn’t find them on amazon I just looked and they have vol 1 n 2 from used  $4.00 to brand new $10.00.
Also I do have a very rare traveling Wilburys cd named Traveling Wilburys Unreleased Masters which produced in 2003. Very good songs on this cd too.
First of all the op question was he couldn’t find The Traveling Wilbury cds. Second The Traveling Wilburys vol 2 could be considered that the Tom Pettys Full Moon Fever album as Vol 2 because George Harrison, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne performs on that album. Vol 2 which was not released was a bootleg of early studio mixes to honor the death of Roy Orbison or by not releasing the album started with Roy Orbison
My mistake.i meant to say on eBay there are the volume 1 and 3.  The Traveling Wilburys only made 2 albums. Vol 1 and Volume 3. Volume 2 which was never released.

There are a hundreds of vol 1 and 2 for sale on eBay
There is no Traveling Wilburys Vol. 2.
I guess travel headphones should be noise cancelling, so AirPods won't suit noisy trips I guess. I don't know what design you prefer, but different travel blogs confirm that

MonoDeal headphones are perfect for travelling (the price is rather loyal, about 40-50$ ).
I have both of them on CD in my pile of hardly listened to. Just for kicks what are they selling for?
You can get just about anything you please on E-bay. - as evidence by the 45 hits for the TWs.
Hi all,

After extreme desperation trying to track down a copy of Traveling Wilburys Vol 1, I thought of trying my luck on the good old 'gon.
Does any one have a copy of Vol 1 in CD format that they are interested in selling at a reasonable price ?
Thank you in advance for all the assistance,

J.R
Thanks for the info and my apologies for the delayed follow-up.

Nickel Creek was AWESOME. I have to agree with the above regarding the level of talent. It's amazing how much Chris Thiele (sp?) carries the group. He is an incredible talent. To add to the analogy Midwestcoast, I think he is to the mandolin as Bela Fleck is to the banjo. Not only is he technically near perfect, but also posesses the creativity to completely redefine the instrument.

Another poster contacted me privately with a website where I can purchase the whole library "new" for not a whole lotta' money. Thank you though to the rest of you who were so kind to offer a copy. I appreciate it.
What makes Nickel Creek is the mandolin player, plain and simple. The brother sister guitar and fiddle team are fine musicians, don't get me wrong, but where neither of them are the "next big thing" on their instruments, the mando player actually is (Chris Thiel... I think that's right; don't have it handy). He is to the mandolin what Jerry Douglas was to the dobro or Tony Rice to the bluegrass lead guitar. I can't imagine what he'll be like by the time he hits 30.
Hi - If you like Nickle Creek, try the album "Quick" by Eddie From Ohio. Or, "Coctail Swing" by Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem. Bet 'ya love 'em.
Cheers,
Ed
I was channel surfing one night within the last week and came to rest on VH1 for "The End Of The Line" Wilbury video, after which they commented that after being out of print, it was scheduled to be re-released...I don't think they said when though...
Thanks guys.

Well, here goes. Is anyone willing to either make me a copy or sell it at a reasonable price ($15-20)?

I'd love to get it on LP, but I don't yet have a tt. That's next on the list, followed by adding a subwoofer.

Or does anyone have any concrete knowledge of whether or not it's going to be re-released?
ask somebody around here to copy it for you.

I got it. I hated it. Gave it away.

Yeah, I know I am in a minority..but still.....
I've heard recently that it's going to be re-released ...didn't know if that meant remastered, what format(s) etc
...the first is a real gem
Yes, I also looked into that cd and I beleive it's out of print due to legality issues unfortunatly, thanks to the record industry. This is why they want alot of $$ for it.
