@slaw  Steve, amplifiers that don't have tubes are invisible to me! Have fun with the V-4. Thing is about tube amps is that the right tubes will elevate the amp whereas crap tubes will make it sound average. I'm amazed when I see expensive amps with JJs.

Brian, These came with Tung-Sol KT 120 cryo’d from Upscale.supposedly newish. 

Fired them up last night for a while to bias the tubes in anticipation of final install.

Steve, very cool re: pulling your Quicksilver’s out. Very nice.

And Brian, no doubt that every tube counts towards SQ. 

Tubes are really fun, but like Steve, it’s also a huge rabbit hole. But I can see how engaging it would be to work at getting them all to work together, sometimes doing different things in order to achieve the sound you want.
