Which way should a cable's "Ground End" go?

The shield that is connected at only one end should connect to the preamp, regardless of whether the other end goes to a source or amplifier.

My logic says that the "Ground End" should face the current source, in which case you would be mostly correct, current flow wise.

This, however would place the wrong end to the initial current source, i.e. CD player, Turntable, etc.

Do you recall where you got your information from?

Guess that I answered my own Question with this copied directly from their site discussing their cables; at least for "Unbalanced Operation"

""In unbalanced operation the two internal conductors can simply be taken together with the shield acting as the signal return, though the better and preferred layout (which we apply) has the shield only connected to signal ground at the signal source side (marked by a ground-end marking sticker) and one of the internal conductors functions as signal return.""  

This clearly states ""has the shield only connected to signal ground at the signal source side (marked by a ground-end marking sticker) and one of the internal conductors functions as signal return.""

Thus the marked end faces the current source, which is logical.

The print on the cable should read from left to right when connected to the source. Thats is how these cables need to be connected
