Why does Cary Audio keep discontinuing good amps?

Is this to keep us buying from them? Why not upgrade good designs?

Arn't they the "leader of the pack" for this kind of thing? I mean, how many preamp models have they done in the last 25 years, AND is there a point where they could have just stopped and still had an outstanding or maybe even better product - like the LS5- before departing into the "REF" series?
